BOLOGNA PROCESS

TC Studies is part of the Bologna Process, an intergovernmental higher education reform initiative involving 49 European countries and several key organizations, including the European University Association (EUA). Its primary goal is to enhance the quality, transparency, and international recognition of European higher education systems. The Bologna Process also fosters academic mobility, collaboration, and exchange—both within Europe and globally.

ECTS and the Bologna Framework

As a Bologna-aligned institution, TC Studies uses the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS)—a standardized framework for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees across Europe.

  • ECTS makes academic programs more transparent and comparable across countries.
  • It enables students to transfer credits between institutions and have their qualifications recognized internationally.
  • TC Studies students earn a minimum of 180 ECTS credits, with approximately 1,900 hours of academic instruction, including over 400 hours dedicated to Christian counseling.

ECTS also supports the planning, delivery, and evaluation of higher education programs, making it a cornerstone of the Bologna Process and a key advantage for students pursuing accredited theological education.
